Conduct and Behaviour

Conduct and Behaviour - Our school places great emphasis on the conduct and behaviour of students both within the school premises and in external settings. Every student’s overall performance is evaluated not only on academic achievements but also on their demeanor and actions. The following parameters are considered essential:

General Areas of Conduct

  • Punctuality: Arriving on time and adhering to schedules reflects responsibility and respect for others’ time.
  • Self-Discipline Beyond the Classroom: Demonstrating good behaviour during school-sponsored events, field trips, and other activities outside the school environment.
  • Integrity During Exams and Tests: Maintaining honesty, fairness, and proper conduct when sitting for assessments.
  • Work Ethics: Displaying dedication, persistence, and a positive attitude towards assignments, projects, and school responsibilities.
  • Classroom and Corridor Conduct: Respectful and orderly behaviour in classrooms, hallways, and during transitions between classes contributes to a harmonious school environment.
  • Behaviour in Shared Spaces: Courteous and disciplined conduct in common areas like the library, laboratories, and during general assembly sessions.
  • Sportsmanship and Games Field Conduct: Following the rules of play, showing respect for teammates and opponents, and maintaining discipline in sports and physical education activities.

By encouraging students to uphold these standards, we aim to cultivate not only academic excellence but also the personal qualities that make for well-rounded, respectful, and responsible individuals.

Examination Guidelines

The progression of students from one grade to the next is based on a comprehensive evaluation process, including periodic tests, terminal examinations, and other assigned tasks. This systematic approach ensures that students are continuously assessed on their understanding and mastery of the curriculum.

  • Grading and Report Cards: Each student’s report card will include a grade that corresponds to the range of marks obtained, providing a clear picture of their academic performance.
  • Medical Absences and Make-Up Policy: If a student is unable to appear for a test or examination due to medical reasons, they must submit a valid medical certificate within two days of the missed test. Failure to provide the certificate will result in the student being marked absent for that assessment.
  • Slip Test Schedule: To encourage regular preparation and consistent performance, slip tests are scheduled weekly for grades I through IX as follows:
    • Monday: English
    • Tuesday: Science/EVS
    • Wednesday: Social Science
    • Thursday: Mathematics
    • Friday: Tamil
    • Saturday: Hindi

This structured approach to examinations helps maintain a steady pace of learning while also teaching students the importance of preparation, responsibility, and academic integrity.

Criteria for Promotion

Student promotion is determined through a continuous and comprehensive evaluation system. This approach ensures that a child’s progress is measured over time and across various areas of learning, rather than relying solely on end-of-year exams. Key aspects include:

  • Ongoing Assessments: Regular performance reviews, periodic tests, class assignments, and project work contribute to the overall evaluation.
  • Holistic Evaluation: The system not only focuses on academics but also considers co-curricular achievements, behavior, punctuality, and active participation in school activities.
  • Parent-Teacher Interaction: Parents are encouraged to meet with teachers periodically. These interactions help parents better understand the school’s evaluation methods and support their children in meeting the criteria for promotion.

By fostering collaboration between parents and educators, the school aims to create a supportive learning environment that encourages continuous growth and success.
